Before your visit: no special preparation is needed. A small, cosmetically unnoticeable lock of hair is cut close to the scalp at the lab. Hair testing shows a pattern of drug use over roughly the last 90 days, not the last few days, so it is not a good choice if you need to know about very recent use.
