A complete urinalysis looks at your urine in three ways: its appearance, a chemical check (for things like protein, glucose and blood) and a look under the microscope for cells and other particles.
People order it as part of a routine checkup, for symptoms such as burning or frequent urination, or to screen for kidney and urinary tract problems.
Before your visit: no fasting. You will give a urine sample at the lab, and the lab will explain how. There is no blood draw, so no blood draw fee.
